A1 Grand Prix is a FIA World Motorsport Council approved, international winter racing championship which started in late 2005 and immediately brought a new dimension to the world of motorsport.

The championship pits drivers, racing for the pride of their nation, in identical high performance A1 racing cars powered by a 3.4 litre, 550 bhp A1 Grand Prix V8 Engine. From September 2008, a new car was introduced, powered by a Ferrari engine

The championship, which is known as the World Cup of Motorsport, involves +/- 20 countries competing against each other, in exotic locations around the globe during the motorsport winter or off-season between September and April each year. Participants represent over 80% of the world's population through the involvement of countries spanning Asia, Africa, the Americas, Australia and Europe.

Starting in July 2004, CMS provided certain equipment to assist in the test programme for this series and now provides technical and commercial service to assist Team Malaysia and Team Indonesia. For the 2007/8 season CMS, assisted Team Pakistan's technical operations.
